ABOUT DANNETTE BIVINS, LPC-S, LMFT, NCC, JSOCC

Dannette Bivins opened Intentional Healing with the goal of helping individuals, couples, and families pursue their goals. Dannette named her practice Intentional Healing due to her belief that counseling is an intentional pursuit of healing from various aspects of life through the therapeutic process. To assist her clients in pursuing their goals, she uses a client-centered approach integrating theories and techniques that are best suited for each individual. Dannette defines therapy as an opportunity to improve your life through learning and implementing healthier habits behaviorally, mentally, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually; her goal is to meet you where you are and assist you in reaching where you want to be.  

Dannette obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, followed by earning a Master’s degree in Couples and Family Counseling from the University of Montevallo. She has worked in a variety of treatment settings, including outpatient settings, day treatment, juvenile detention, residential programs, jails, and inpatient psychiatric units. She specializes in Child and Adolescent and Marriage and Family services.    

Dannette Bivins is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC; AL# 3870) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT; AL# L545). She provides supervision for individuals persuing LPC  licensure (LPC-S; AL# SC03298). She is credentialed as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Juvenile Sexual Offending Certified Counselor (JSOCC), and a Trauma-Focused CBT Certified Therapist. Additionally, she is a certified Prepare-Enrich Marriage Counseling Provider (#1261042).

Dannette provides in-person sessions and telehealth sessions.
